Presenter Bio: Ellie Walsh-Moots
Ellie Walsh-Moots spends her days encouraging junior high students to be practicing student-historians at St. Bernard Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. Like many educators, her passion for pedagogy and commitment to growth has led her to also take on school leadership roles in addition to instructional responsibilities, including positions as a house leader, technology integration coordinator, and department chair. Inspired by these experiences, Ellie completed a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching focused on the experience and development of middle leaders in Scotland in the spring of 2022. By sharing her findings alongside insights from the broader research field, she hopes to empower busy educational middle leaders to better understand the impact of their complex and contextual roles.
