Where the Science of Learning Meets the Science of Reading

A workshop presented by Center for the Collaborative Classroom.

Registration Closes October 15

NEW DATE! October 29, 2024  |  Jackson, Tennessee

Target AudienceK-5 teachers, learning support, literacy teachers

Description: While the science of reading tells us what is essential for building a reader, the science of learning tells us the conditions that are necessary for understandings to thrive and last. Through this workshop designed specifically for K-5 educators, participants will learn about the evidence base for the Science of Learning and connect those principles to the components of the Reading Rope. This discussion-based workshop will leverage professional readings alongside lesson and video analyses to connect research to practice. Attendees will gain a working understanding of a new normal -- a normal where the Science of Reading informed by the Science of Learning has the potential to not only develop confident readers but support the whole child.
