Building a Successful Professional Learning Structure

Audience: Academic Deans, Division Heads, Heads of School, Department Chairs
Explore a variety of activities, such as Lightning Strikes and Speed Dating, that can immediately be brought back to your school to promote a culture of growth and to spice up your professional development program. We will also learn about several FREE resources that are available to support teachers, including the Apple Teacher Learning Center, and learn fun exciting ways to implement a school-wide Apple Teacher Program. We will analyze the components of successful professional development plans, and attendees can begin to create one for their schools. You will leave the workshop with a toolbox of resources to help you create a professional learning environment with a growth mindset.
Speaker: Nikole Blanchard
Blanchard is the founder of a technology network in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and serves as a board member of Baton Rouge's EdCamp and Louisiana IT Symposium.
Nikole is the Director of Innovation & Technology at Dunham School, which has been recognized six consecutive years as an Apple Distinguished School. Through the exciting Apple Teacher program, she led 100% of the 93 teachers in her group to gain full Apple Teacher recognition. A career height for Nikole was sharing the stage with Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, in 2018. She told her technology story - making history as the first non-Apple employee to speak during an Apple Keynote.
