2021-22 Facing History Community Workshop: Teaching Brown Girl Dreaming 

TAIS is pleased to offer this Facing History and Ourselves workshop on teaching Brown Girl Dreaming by New York Times bestselling author Jacqueline Woodson. Details are on the attached flyer.

 Using the text as a lens to explore identity and belonging, participants will examine factors such as individual choices, society, family, place, education, opportunity, and faith in shaping identity. Teachers may explore the ways in which their classrooms contribute to the identities of their students and how their own identity is shaped by their teaching and their students.
